Big ships!

The 2012 Rendez-vous naval de Québec was a 4-day festival of ships, held at the harbor on the St. Lawrence River.  There were ships from Germany, the United States, Canada, and France.  Most were accessible to the public, via tours, and all were impossible to miss, tied up along the docks.  We met for a couple of sketching sessions, and thoroughly enjoyed sketching in the sun, accompanied by the sound of navy marching bands, and a US Navy jazz ensemble.

We were a matter of curiosity to random few spectators, some of whom came over and chatted.  We may have even recruited a couple of new participants in the Drawn to Québec group.  If you missed this year's rendez-vous, definitely plan to come next year.  It was great fun, very interesting, and a fantastic sketching opportunity.
